Weekly Report : TWEET Launched

The Women Education and Empowerment Trust (TWEET) has been officially launched on the 7th of October 2019 at Delhi, with delegates from across the country bearing witness. TWEET is an initiative under Vision 2026, that aims to delve into the issues and problems faced by women in India and ultimately aims at empowering women across communities and religions all over the country.

The inauguration was held at a two-day workshop that followed in the vein of the topic at hand, titled "Empowering Women Through NGOs" jointly organized by TWEET and HWF. The Presidential address by T. Arifali, General Secretary of Human Welfare Foundation set the ball rolling and gave a bird's eye view on the depth and reach of the mission undertaken. The Keynote address by Dr. Shabistan Gaffar and the workshop by Professor Neelam Sukhramani served as an education of what women empowerment actually means. The delegates also shared all the work they have been doing in their respective states, and about how much they can contribute to TWEET.

A Rahamathunnissa as Chairperson, Khalida Parveen as Vice Chairperson, Dr. Jueria Reemi as General Secretary, Dr. Sharnas Muthu as Treasurer and Fakhira Atheeq and Shaista Rafat as Executive Committee Members.
